Why attend?

“I feel like I've found a kindred group of highly intelligent, driven individuals who care deeply about measuring the impact of the work of not only their own organizations but of the sector at-large.”

In 2009, ANDE hosted the first Metrics from the Ground Up conference in partnership with the Grassroots Business Fund. This event dedicated two days to the discussion of impact measurement. It brought together data wonks, evaluation specialists, technology gurus, and SGB sector practitioners - the whole ecosystem of people we needed to start building intelligence on the sector.

Since then, ANDE has hosted its Metrics Conference every year. 2018 marks the 10th edition of Metrics from the Ground Up.  Over the past ten years the field has grown, and recently we have seen increasing urgency to improve the rigor, relevance, and responsiveness of impact measurement. This year we will take stock of how far the field has come, and where we need to continue to grow as a community.

Intimate Conversations. With a max of 120 participants all grappling with questions of impact assessment, conversations are focused, intimate, and fun.

Practical. We move conversations beyond theory to demonstrate real examples of what works (and what doesn’t work).

Transparent and Open. We ask that all participants come prepared not just to learn, but to share their expertise.

We will release a draft agenda in early April. In the meantime, we encourage you to submit your ideas for sessions and speakers by March 30. ANDE members, we encourage you to join our upcoming planning calls or connect with the team directly, to make sure this agenda is built by ANDE members for ANDE members. To get a sense for the scope of the content, you can take a look at our past event pages including the agenda for the most recent conference held in Nairobi, Kenya.
