India Chapter Manager

The Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs (ANDE), a global network of organizations that propel entrepreneurship in emerging markets, is looking for a new India Chapter Manager for our Bangalore office.  


Position Description

- Manage and operate the India Chapter.   Working closely with ANDE’s global and local staff, a local Steering Committee, donors and other stakeholders, deliver and implement a work plan that supports the growth of the small and growing business (SGB) sector in the region.
- Facilitate connections and collaboration amongst ANDE members in the region.
- Manage the budget and all local operations for the chapter. 
- Manage current stakeholders and donors and develop new leads. 
- Manage current and new staff of the chapter. 
- Develop and implement new programs and initiatives for the chapter.
- Develop a deeper level of engagement with existing members, while also recruiting new members to the network. 
- Manage existing Learning Labs and other special projects of the chapter. 
- Develop ANDE as the go-to place for all things related to small and growing businesses in the sector, and become a recognized expert and thought leader in your own right. 

Target profile

The ideal candidate will:
- Have significant experience and appreciation for the complexities of network building. 
- Have an existing track record in developing and managing operations for a local non-profit or small business. 
- Thrive in a startup environment, where the onus is on you to make it work.
- Be comfortable meeting with senior level government officials and high level donors. 
- Have 7-10 years’ experience in partnership development, strategic and operational planning, project management and/or stakeholder management. 
- Have significant fundraising (or sales) experience. 
- Experience working in entrepreneurship, impact investing and/or international development preferred.
- Able to travel up to 30% of the time within the region and internationally. 
- Fluency in English is required. Experience studying or working in the US or Europe highly preferred.
- The role will be based in Bangalore after an initial training period in our Washington, DC office.
