East Africa Chapter Program Coordinator


The East Africa Chapter of the Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs is seeking a Program Coordinator to help support the management of a new partnership with Mennonite Economic Development Associates (MEDA) ( This is a two year contract position based in Nairobi.


The ANDE-MEDA partnership is focused on implementing a Technical Assistance (TA) Facility capitalized by MEDA as part of its M-SAWA project, funded by the Government of Canada. This TA Facility will be managed by ANDE with the purpose of strengthening the business capacities of qualifying small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the Kenyan agriculture, constructive and extractives sectors operating in project target counties. The Facility will be accessed by select Kenya-based PEI funds interested in working with business development service (BDS) providers to offer pre or post-investment support to SMEs within their networks on a cost-share basis.

Position Description 

  • Managing the application process to ensure completeness of application submitted. 

  • Reviewing submissions from grantees to ensure compliance for reimbursement.  

  • Managing communications between ANDE and MEDA. 

  • Preparing regular invoices, grant agreements and detailed reports for the project.  

  • Promoting the facility via multiple channels including emails, phone calls, events and in-person meetings  

  • Each day will be different, but this role will provide exposure to a wide variety of skills experience and topic areas throughout the small and growing business space in emerging markets

  • Has a strong ability to help others be organized and efficient; 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; 

  • Experience with grants management is a plus; 

  • Has 3-5 years’ experience working in the SGB ecosystem.
