The latest report, available in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, provides a retrospective summary of key developments and trends in the sector in 2019 and relevant insights based on initial data and emerging information on the potential impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on those trends in 2020.

Issue Brief: The SGB Sector and the COVID-19 Crisis

The effect of COVID-19 on economies around the world has been unprecedented. While evidence on this impact is only beginning to emerge, it is clear that the economic damage has been particularly severe for SGBs in emerging markets. ANDE and Dalberg look at initial evidence regarding the impact of COVID-19 on SGBs and the SGB support sector more broadly in emerging markets. Read the brief, including a summary of current risks, impacts, and needs so that organizations and individuals who support SGBs can ensure more effective interventions. Read the June 2020 data addendum for updated information on what has and hasn't changed.

Supporting the SGB Sector Through Coronavirus

The health and safety of ANDE staff and our global network is our highest priority. We are actively monitoring government and multilateral guidance on the COVID-19 outbreak and best practices of other organizations regarding work and events. We are working to engage the network virtually and share best practices in responding to COVID-19 as individuals and organizations. Please refer to our COVID-19 resource hub for useful resources, including a dedicated page for IMM in the context of coronavirus.
