Read ANDE's New Report on Impact Investing in Latin America

In 2018 and 2019 the global impact investing market continued to grow, and is now estimated at approximately USD $715 billion. The Latin American market reflects similar trends, though it faces unique challenges and opportunities. ANDE’s new report, available in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, captures characteristics of the impact investing sector in Latin America over the past two years based on a sample of 83 impact investors active in the region. Through institution-level and deal-level data shared by these investors, this report gives a snapshot of where and how capital is being allocated and identifies challenges that the impact ecosystem faces. This year’s report also features profiles specific to Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, and Central America.

2019 State of the SGB Sector Report Now Available

The analysis examines global trends in support for small and growing businesses through capacity development services, direct private investment, and donor funding, as well as specific trends by region. The latest report, available in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, provides a retrospective summary of key developments and trends in the sector in 2019 and relevant insights based on initial data and emerging information on the potential impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on those trends in 2020.

Issue Brief: The SGB Sector and the COVID-19 Crisis

The effect of COVID-19 on economies around the world has been unprecedented. While evidence on this impact is only beginning to emerge, it is clear that the economic damage has been particularly severe for SGBs in emerging markets. ANDE and Dalberg look at initial evidence regarding the impact of COVID-19 on SGBs and the SGB support sector more broadly in emerging markets. Read the brief, including a summary of current risks, impacts, and needs so that organizations and individuals who support SGBs can ensure more effective interventions. Read the June 2020 data addendum for updated information on what has and hasn't changed.Refer to our COVID-19 resource hub for useful resources, including a dedicated page for IMM in the context of coronavirus.
