ANDE's Learning Lab meeting on access to innovative finance for small and growing businesses (SGBs) in India

Directions here

Learning Lab overview:

ANDE's SGB Finance Learning Lab was created as a space for discussion and knowledge sharing. We aim for it to act as a guide and connection point for intermediaries looking to better support SGBs in the area of access to finance. We will focus on issues that challenge many ANDE members in India and the SGBs that they support as they seek to access debt and blended finance capital. The goal of the Learning Lab is to help our members discuss, identify, and develop solutions to these financing challenges.

The financing needs of SGBs can broadly be classified as equity, debt, grant, and hybrid. While equity flow into impact investing in India is robust and growing, debt flow is still largely underdeveloped but getting increasingly popular. The Learning Lab aims to curate knowledge amongst its members. We will discuss existing debt instruments and explore the use of new debt instruments and innovative financing instruments for various financing needs of SGBs, thereby seeking to facilitate a greater flow of debt financing, CSR capital, and blended finance into SGBs.

About this meeting:

In this first workshop, we will look at the use of innovative debt financing instruments to address working capital needs for SGBs in India. There will also be a discussion on non-traditional funding options for CSR programs and foundations that are looking to support financial access for entrepreneurs in India while simultaneously satisfying their impact goals.
