ANDE SA Metrics Learning Lab

ANDE members are invited to the upcoming South Africa Metrics Learning Lab breakfast, to build the capacity of members working to support SGBs in South Africa to measure their social and environmental performance. Global and local tools, methodologies and challenges will be discussed during these working sessions, with funding available for collaborative projects.

Parking: Please note that parking at AMSCO is limited, hence Uber is always a good option, and car pooling is great for the environment! Alternatively, parking is available at these four places:

  • 33 Fricker Road, Illovo
  • Illovo Square on Harries Road
  • Street parking on the corner of Harries and Fricker Road
  • 34 & 36 Fricker Road, Illovo (please say that you are attending an event at AMSCO at number 33).


This working session aims to get participants up to speed with international methodologies in impact measurement.

Agenda: The agenda will include:

  • A presentation by Sonia Kuguru, Impact Analyst from Acumen based in Kenya who will be giving an overview of Acumen’s Lean Data methodology;
  • An overview of the Progress out of Poverty Index (PPI) and free available tools by Sharada Ramanathan, PPI Manager from Innovations for Poverty Action;
  • An opportunity to discuss nominating a Metrics Learning Lab member lead;
  • Information about the upcoming GIIN training on Impact Measurement (IM) and Performance Management' in Cape Town on 21-22 June 2017 for which ANDE members receive a discount (and the next ANDE Learning Lab in Cape Town);
  • A working discussion on what attendees are using to measure impact and a recap of proposed topics for future Metrics Learning Labs.
