The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade provides foreign, trade and development policy advice to the Australian Government. DFAT implement's the Australian Government's aid program for the purpose of supporting economic growth and poverty reduction in the Indo-Pacific. An increasing focus of DFAT's development programming is on supporting private sector led economic growth, including small and growing businesses. DFAT programs do this in a range of ways including by working with partner governments to improve the business enabling environment, working to improve the function of key markets or sectors or supporting individual businesses to grow and enhance their development impact.
