2015 ANDE Annual Conference
September 30 - October 2, 2015
Tarrytown, NY

 In 2015, over 232 participants from 166 organizations and 47 countries gathered at the ANDE Annual Conference to discuss pressing issues of the SGB space.

Below are some highlights from the conference as well as a file library of presentations and notes from the various panels and breakout sessions.  Please keep checking back, as we will update this file library as we receive additional notes from conference participants.

Firseside Chat with Nicholas Kristof
This year's keynote speaker, award-winning journalist Nicholas Kristof, sat down with ANDE's Executive Director, Randall Kempner for an in-depth conversation on how NGOS and corporations can work across sectors to spotlight key development issues and combat poverty worldwide. In this fireside chat, Randall Kempner interviewed Kristof on how job creation can address global issues alongside traditional development aid. 


Microtalk Presentations
For the first time, ANDE hosted a series of microtalks, which included 5 excellent presentations from PR Ganapathy (Villgro), Anthony Farr (Allan Gray Orbis Foundation), Lucie Klarsfeld (Hystra), Peter Roberts (Emory University), and Sasha Dichter (Acumen). Critical observations, tools and techniques around an array of topics, ranging from mentorship to lean data were shared in brief 10 - 15 minute presentations to ANDE members. 
New ANDE Executive Committee Members Announced
ANDE is proud to announce the new members of our Executive Committee. We are excited for their leadership and expertise, which we believe will further strengthen the ANDE network. Please join us in welcoming PR "Guns" Gathapy, President of Villgro (India) and Ricardo Michel, Director of the Center Transformational Partnerships at USAID (USA).


USAID PACE Winners Announced
Congratulations to latest round of PACE awardees (as well as ANDE members)! The three grantees are Intellecap; Jibu; and the Variable Payment Obligation Program (VPOP), a partnership with Enclude, Agora Partnerships, BAC Nicaragua, and Santa Clara University's Miller Center for Social Entrepreneurship. PACE aims to catalyze private-sector investment into early-stage enterprises and identify innovations that help entrepreneurs bridge the pioneer gap – thus unlocking the potential of thousands of promising enterprises around the world.
Membership Appreciation Award
ANDE recognized Rebecca Fries, Managing Director at Value for Women and Marcos Mancini, Director of Sustainable Banking at Banorte for their hard work and dedication to the ANDE network. 

Plenary: Talent Development in the SGB Sector
Tahira Dosani (Accion Venture Lab), Nicole Etchart (NESsT), Paul Malherbe (AMSCO) and Jon Shepard (EY) led a discussion around talent development in the SGB sector, including how to acquire, retain and improve talent. Speakers focused on the challenges associated with talent acquisition and various methods that could help with recruiting talent.
