Hugo joined the Central America and Mexico team in November 2021 and he is based in Mixco, Guatemala. He is the Program Manager for the Guatemala Entrepreneurship Development Initiative (GEDI). He has experience in the private, academic, intergovernmental, nonprofit,  and governmental sectors. He is passionate about economic development though financial instruments. Prior to joining ANDE, Hugo worked for several universities as teaching fellow, and as Project Manager for USAID, UN, GAC, and Aecid funded projects, for a government agency, an international NGO, and a UN agency. Hugo holds one Master´s Degree in Mathematical Economics and Finance from the Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne in Paris, a Master´s and a Postgraduate Degree in Economics and Finance and an Industrial Engineering from Universidad Rafael Landívar in Guatemala. He is passionate about soccer, cosmology, and faith.
